Why Quota System is needed in Higher Education Mr. Arjun Singh - Enough is enough

Do anyone of you think that Mr. Arjun Singh is thinking anything good for our education system. Is it really going to help our education system???

IIM and IIT is a place where intelligence matters and not reservation. Mr Arjun Singh, are you going to repent after couple of years if you see inferior quality of graduates from these institutes. And why would you? Your task is done. Your aim seems to be the upcoming elections in five states.

Would you bring back those bright brains of India who are preparing to leave the country to get higher education abroad only because they could not get a sit in IIT or IIM.

Enough is enough, there should not be any reservation based on caste anymore. If you want to have reservation, yes have it but for financially backward class. This is where you need to bring them up. There should be no reservations based solely on the principles of caste and government should instead focus on providing quality primary education to all.

Its good to see that bloggers community have already started raising voice. One
of our blogger friends have created an Anti-Reservation Blogroll. Watch out
for it here. Entrance to the Shrine.: Anti-Reservations Blogroll.

Dude, as if Arjun Singh cares to look at the quality of the passouts. All he is interested is in getting some votes.

Merit has no meaning. Only votes matter. Either you vote or perish. No amount of blogging is going to change things in my opinion. Anyways chipping in with my 2 bytes.

Arjun Singh has made the worst decision of his public life and the truth the current generation really thinks that merit is the true scale for judging and not the fake certificates and other political pressure....

To take India into the next level we need to change the stagnant system! The youth's need to put in their thoughts....

Unite youth and I find Blog a great medium to raise one's concerns!

dunno for how long they are gonna do these "please the caste" politics.. i didn't get into the details of this reservation move, but only caught a quick snippet from the headline scroll - which said that this move might make the reservations go up to 49.5%.

I am from Chennai and in TN, the reserved seats in edu. institutions, public sector amounts to 69% for a long, long time.. thats the reason why TN was quite silent when N.India was burning over Mandal Commission report in 1990.

Would there ever be a day when we get to see the back of all these reservations? hmmm... i know i am dreaming!

This is the heights of stupidity done by Mr. Arjun Singh. Its so humilating to see a less qualified SC/ ST gets chance everywhere and bright general category students struggle so much everywhere, be it entrance or in Government jobs.

hmm, the old debate about reservation again. if i see it from my view, it is a problem with no definite end, especially in the political setup which india has. govt is too eager to please certain sections of the society to get votes, this has been going on for ages now and nothing has changed. on a personal level, i feel that it is high time ppl should try to get placements in institutions and jobs on theirown credit. it has been more than 50 years of india's independence that the reservation policy is on. high time, ppl start to identify their merit rather than claiming reservation. BTW: nice blog.
