Did you know that there is a system in our constitution, as per the 1969 act, in section "49-O" that a person can go to the polling booth, confirm his identity, get his finger marked and convey the presiding election officer that he doesn't want to vote anyone!

Yes such a feature is available, but obviously these seemingly notorious leaders have never disclosed it. This is called "49-O".

Why should you go and say "I VOTE NOBODY"... because, in a ward, if a candidate wins, say by 123 votes, and that particular ward has received "49-O" votes more than 123, then that

polling will be canceled and
Will have to be re-polled.
Not only that, but the candidature of the contestants will be removed and they cannot contest the re-polling, since people had already expressed their decision on them.

This would bring fear into parties and hence look for genuine candidates for their parties for election. This would change the way, of our whole political system... it is seemingly surprising why the election commission has not revealed such a feature to the public....

Please spread this news to as many as you know...Seems to be a wonderful weapon against corrupt parties in India ...show your power, expressing your desire not to vote for anybody, is even more powerful than voting.... so don't miss your chance.

Arkansas Democratic Party Chairman and former state Senator Bill Gwatney of Jacksonville has been shot at the party’s headquarters. KTHV-TV, Channel 11, is reporting that Gwatney was shot multiple times in the upper torso and was taken to a local hospital. The Arkansas Democratic Party said Gwatney is hospitalized in critical condition after the incident.

After striking a chord with audiences as a rustic Punjabi boy in last year’s hit “Namastey London”, Akshay Kumar returns as Happy Singh, a gullible, foolhardy and accident-prone guy in romantic comedy “Singh Is Kinng” that releases Friday.

Directed by Anees Bazmee, the film got unexpected publicity when Prime Minister Manmohan Singh pulled off a decisive win in the trust vote in parliament July 22.

“Congratulations India… Singh is King!” was the SMS circulated in Punjab and elsewhere soon after the results were announced.

“I could never ever imagine that the title of my film would become so popular. It has become such a rage after the trust vote. Singh is King has become synonymous with the power of the Singhs. I’m very glad,” said producer Vipul Shah.

When Harbhajan Singh took six wickets Saturday to help India gain a lead on the third day of the second Test against Sri Lanka in Galle, again the headlines said “Singh Is King”.

The film’s USP is Akshay and Katrina Kaif, who teamed up in two of last year’s biggest hits - “Namastey London” and “Welcome”.

The story of the singing, dancing sardarji goes like this:

Lakhan Singh aka Lucky (Sonu Sood) is the ‘king’ of the Australian underworld. He functions with the help of his associates - Javed Jaffrey, Neha Dhupia, Manoj Pahwa, Yashpal Sharma, Kamal Chopra and Sudhanshu Pande.

Far away, in Lucky’s village in Punjab lives someone more notorious than him - Happy Singh (Akshay Kumar).

The villagers are fed up of Happy, the good samaritan, because most of his good deeds turn into hilarious, and often disastrous situations. Out of desperation, they decide to send him to Australia to bring Lucky back to Punjab.

The happy-go-lucky bumpkin, taking his mission a bit too seriously, embarks on his journey accompanied by his friend, Tony Singh (Om Puri).

The high point of his journey is his chance meeting with Sonia (Katrina Kaif) with whom he falls in love. But when he reaches his destination, things take a turn and Happy lands up in a series of comic misadventures, leaving him penniless.

An affectionate elderly lady (Kirron Kher) rescues him and also helps him meet Lucky.

Happy saves Lucky’s life by risking his own. Following the hilarious altercation, Lucky lands up in hospital paralyzed, and Happy, unexpectedly, finds the tables turned on him when he is expected to assume the role of the new leader of the gang.

The series of chaotic and comic misunderstandings eventually results in an accidental wedding!

Shot in Punjab, Australia and Egypt, the film’s music is already doing well. American rapper Snoop Dogg features in the movie wearing a turban. Apart from Pritam Chakraborty, Britain’s popular bhangra band RDB has also composed a song for the film.

Although Akshay’s first release of the year “Tashan” turned out to be a box office dud, trade pundits are hoping this film will do well

It belongs to the so-called midnight sun eclipses, as it will be visible from regions experiencing midnight sun. A partial eclipse will be seen from the much broader path of the Moon's penumbra, including eastern North America and most of Europe and India (Asia).

Ishmeet Singh - Star Voice of India winner dies in the Maldives today.

The cause of his death was drowning according to official news sources. Some also suspects that the cause of death might have been due to damages to his head from a dive into the swimming pool. Ishmeet Singh was reported to have been staying in a Resort Island (Chaaya Island Dhonveli) in the Maldives.

He was rushed to the hospital around 4:30pm this afternoon and died before he could reach the ADK hospital.

He and other Voice of India participants were visiting the Maldives to perform in the Voice of India Show in the Carnival on 1 August, Friday.

Surat: Explosives Found in Wagon and Car

We just saw two cities, Bangalore and Ahmedabad threatened with bomb blasts in India, and today, cops found out explosives near a hospital in Surat.

Another Wagon R car loaded with explosives, was found in Varaccha area in Surat. The police seized the car and special squads have been rushed in to examine the explosives. Earlier in the afternoon, another Wagon R car loaded with explosives, was seized in Poona village in Surat.

The latest developments have created panic in Surat and other parts of Gujarat. The two other cars, which were used in the serial blasts outside Ahmedabad hospitals were also of Wagon R brand. Registration numbers of all these cars are found to be fake.

Police said it was found to have a wire, some white powder, nuts and bolts as well as a battery — all ingredients for a crude explosive.

Surat Police Commissioner R.M.S. Brar refused to go into the details. “I will not comment on it as the experts are still analysing it,” he said.

Bangalore Blasts:

A string of nine synchronised low intensity bomb blasts today rocked the IT hub during the busy lunch hour, leaving two killed and injuring 12 others spreading terror.

In a grim reminder of the terror attack at the Indian Institute of Sciences here in December 2005, crude bombs concealed near refugee camps, a drain and a bus shelter stuffed with nuts and bolts, exploded between 1.30 pm and 1.45 pm at Adugodi, Madivala, Nayandahalli, Mysore Road, Richmond Circle, Pantharapalya and Vittal Mallya Road. One explosion occured later in the evening.

Ahmedabad Blasts:

The toll in the serial blasts that rocked the city climbed to 38 on Sunday and is expected to rise further, police said. Apart from the 38 dead, 90 people were injured in the coordinated blasts on Saturday in various places here including two hospitals, they said, adding that the toll is expected to rise.

The injured are admitted in several hospitals including Vadilal Sarabhai Hospital, Civil Hospital and LG Hospital.

Terrorists triggered 16 serial blasts in a span of 60 to 70 minutes on Saturday evening in crowded market areas of the city leaving at least 38 dead and over 90 injured.

The areas where the blasts occurred were at Maninagar, Isanpur, Narol circle, Bapunagar, Hatkeshwar, Sarangpur bridge, Sarkhej, Odhav, Sardar Patel market, Civil hospital, Juhapura, Ambur tower building, Raipur and Gowribhadi.

After last year's incident of woman molestation at Gateway of India, Mumbai crowd made sure that they show how dirty they can be on this year's eve as well. Two women were molested outside JW Marriot hotel at 1.45 am on New year's eve. Both of them were NRIs from California and probably wanted to visit their own beautiful country and visit the city of dreams, mumbai for the new year.

This is so disturbing to read this news at Hindustan times, thankfully this case is reported when HT reported filed a complaint with unwilling mumbai cops. We also urge you that if you see these molesters - please take a knife, and cut his hands and manhood - but leave him alive, so he will repent all his life and remember how he shall be treated when he does such crime.

Events in Winston-Salem Next Week

I just arrived to North California last week. There were many reasons, to meet friends in Charlotte or to meet up with ex-colleagues but there was one more important reason. I wanted to attend many events in Winston-Salem this year so I landed up here right in the month of December to enjoy these events for a week.

I took some rest past weekend and today and now ready to check out the events from tomorrow. They have Lighting of the Quad holiday event featuring speakers, music, refreshments and holiday tree lighting. That would be certainly a good start for the chain of events.

I may lik to experience the warmth of a rural Christmas at the turn of the 20th century. Music and food of the era will be featured here in Christmas by Lamplight

There is Tannenberg Organ Concert as well around same time.

At the end of visit to Winston-Salem, I would check out the The Nutcracker Tchaikovsky’s fairy-tale ballet performed by North Carolina School of the Arts students. The fun about "The Nutcracker" is their glittering costumes and fabulous set designs. I came to know that the ballet’s choreography is based on the original 19th century choreography of Lev Ivanov.

I am not sure what's the reason but this blog's PR is dropped from PR3 to PR1. I doubt if changing over to a domain name from http://lifeiscolorful.blogspot.com to http://www.findthecasino.net affected this. Because the later domain name was lying around for some time in my bucket of domain names, and I thought I shall use it for this blog to make it hosted on a domain name.

Though it helped me a lot to get better reviews as many of the advertisers don't like to have reviews done by blogspot hosted blogs, I am little bit sad about the domain drop. The only reason behind adding this domain this blog was it's PR, which was PR3 before the recent google page rank update.

Wow, what a bull run sensex has been seeing. I just wrote about sensex touching 18000 few days back and it covered up 1000 points within few sessions. Isn't it too much.

I don't know what's happening but I am scared to invest money in Indian market any more. I am smelling some scandal like Harshad Mehta or Ketan Parekh took place few years back. I cannot say my weekend was hectic, but end of my weekend certainly was! I could not sleep till 1.00 in the morning and then had to get up at 5.30 am. I think I can survive with 4-5 hrs sleep as I used to but today I am observing that I cannot stand with getting up early and less sleep together. Right now with my heavy eyes, I am trying to focus on my TO DO lists of Monday.

More than the Monday blues, not enough sleep is making me uncomfortable. Imagine, writing a post with all sleepy eyes. That's what exactly you would see, if you could peep through this computer window. Let me see how the rest of the day goes. Bye!

I was pretty excited today for this match which was the first match for Indian cricket team after winning the prestigious T20 World cup. Specially, when the series of matches is against the ODI World cup winner Australia.

But India Australia Match Called off Due to Heavy Rains in Bangalore. Australia played really well, specially Clarke and helped them to build the mammoth total of 307 and made it a difficult task for Indian team to achieve, specially when the master blaster Sachin Tendulkar got out for a duck. After just 4 balls after Sachin got out, heavy rains started and match needed to be abandoned. Sachin must have been thinking why rain delayed for 4 balls, could have saved him getting out for a duck at least.. LOL!

In today's match, I liked the moment of Matthew Haydon losing his wicket to Sreesanth. Did you enjoy Sreesanth's flying high after he has clean bowled Matthew Haydon in consecutively second match - I did.

I thought everyone will celebrate the Indian magic on 24th Sept when India beat Pakistan in the heart throbbing match. But never that there would be communal riots on cherishing these moments.

Thirty people were injured on Tuesday when Hindu organizations protesting the beating of their community members by another group while celebrating India's victory over Pakistan in Twenty20 World Cup clashed with police.

Police fired in the air and used teargas to quell the demonstrators in Rajouri district.

A rally of over 1000 people was taken out by VHP, Bajrang Dal, RSS and BJP in Rajouri city to protest against the incident and alleged high handedness of the police in beating the community youth in Rajouri town, official sources said.

Trouble started on Monday night soon after India won the match as some persons belonging to a community pelted stones on a group of people of the other community who were bursting crackers to celebrate India's victory over Pakistan.

I don't know when these people will grow up and think beyond communities - I don't understand why they can't think only about the COUNTRY than anything else. Hopeless fellows!
